Programme Features
The five-year full-time Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) programme (BNurs) is accredited by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (NCHK). Graduates will be eligible to obtain licence to practise as Registered Nurses (General) in Hong Kong. The programme prepares students to serve in a wide range of healthcare settings including acute, rehabilitation and community to help patients reach their greatest healing potentials. Academic Award
Students who have successfully completed the five-year Programme and fulfilled all graduation requirements will be awarded the Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) by the Hong Kong Baptist University.
Professional Recognition
Graduates of the Programme are eligible to register as Registered Nurses (General) at the Nursing Council of Hong Kong upon completion of all Programme requirement
Programme Structure
This programme consists of Major Required Courses (120 units), Elective Courses (6 units) and University Core and General Education Courses (31 units) per HKBU requirement, a total of 157 units.
Clinical Practicum
Clinical Practicum is an important component of undergraduate nursing education. It provides students real experience in both public and private hospitals, community centres, and nursing homes, bridging theoretical knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and laboratory with real clients in various clinical settings. Service-Learning
The College endeavours to further develop Service-Learning which is an experiential pedagogy that integrates academic “learning" with “service”, enabling students to apply their knowledge and skills creatively while addressing real societal needs. In line with the University’s plan, the School partners with non-profit organisations serving a broad spectrum of vulnerable communities. Through structured Service-Learning with critical reflection, students grow in empathy and in the long run contribute to the greater good of society.

Admission Requirements
(i) Level 3 or above in both Chinese Language and English Language; and (ii) Level 2 or above in Mathematics (compulsory part); and (iii) Attained in Citizenship and Social Development; and (iv) Level 3 or above in two elective subjects*
* One of the elective subjects must be a Category A subject (excluding Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2)). Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2) and Category C subjects (Other Languages), or Applied Learning Courses (either Health Care Practice or Foundation in Chinese Medicine) with “Attained with Distinction (I) or above” can be recognised for fulfilment of the second elective requirement. The preferred Category A subjects are Biology and Science: Combined Science.

- AS Chinese Language and Culture; and
- Either two AL subjects or one AL subject plus two AS subjects
(ii) HKCEE
Level 3/ Grade D or above in English Language (Syllabus B) AND Level 2 / Grade E or above in at least five subjects^ including Chinese Language in a single sitting (^The total grades of these five subjects are no less than 8 points.)

The medium of instruction for classroom teaching is English, except for those courses that are granted exemption. All practicum courses will be conducted in Cantonese in order to prepare students for working with Hong Kong residents, the majority in local health care settings.
